Qualified positions:This event offers qualifying slots by age group for the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. Please note that slot assignments are subject to change and review.Here.

To accept a seat at the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, eligible athletes must claim their seat in person at the rolldown ceremony at the time and location specified in the Event Guide. Photo ID is required and payment must be made at this time

How does the age group assignment work?
"Age Group" means a grouping of Athletes based on their gender and age group. For example, Male 25-29 is one age range and Female 25-29 is another. Your age group results from your age on 31.12. of the event year. For example, if you are male and turn 25 in 2023, your age group category for each race in 2023 is M25 – 29

The slot allocation process:​

• Before race day:
• Each age group of Registered Athletes will be provisionally assigned one spot each (an “Initially Assigned Spot”)​
• Any other slots available for the Race (the "Prorated Slots") will not be allocated until the day of the Race
• On race day:
• If there are no novices in an age group, the originally allocated place for that age group will be removed and grouped with the proportionally allocated place
• The prorated places will then be distributed across all age groups based on the number of starters in each age group. This allocation is based on the proportion of athletes per age group in the male and female categories, i.e. the more athletes in an age group, the more seat allocations they receive
• After the race:
• Before you scroll down:
• If there are no finalists in an age group with one or more runners, the place originally allocated for that age group will be reallocated within the same gender to the age group with the highest runner-to-place ratio
• When scrolling:
• If a spot allocated to an age group becomes untaken (after the roll down for that age group is complete), that unclaimed spot will be reassigned within the same gender to the age group with the highest rookie-to-place ratio

Other information:

Only Age Group athletes are eligible to receive World Age Group Championship qualifying spots and/or additional women's spots. Athletes who hold current Professional or Elite status with an ITU member state triathlon governing body or WTC Pro membership program, or who competed as an elite athlete in an international event during the calendar year are not eligible for age groups. Athletes may not retain professional or elite status at the time of the event or at the time of the World Championship event for which they qualified.

Any change in an athlete's status prior to participation in an event or qualifying World Championship event must be reported to the WTC immediately. Athlete's failure to make such disclosure is grounds for disqualification from the event and may result in sanctioning by WTC events.
